Change I Don't Believe He Believes In

OK, politicians are ambitious, they want more and more power.  Also, some of them actually believe in something.  And this is the bottom line problem with Senator Obama.

I Hereby Announce My Candidacy For President

I have decided to run for President in 2012.  But, first, I must win the nomination of my party.  Based on Obama's brilliant argument, I have a foolproof plan.  I will decide which states I am likely to lose, and then, sytematically withdraw my name from the ballot in those states.  Thus, whoever wins in those states will have their delegate and popular vote totals disqualified.  Given the absolute agreement that this logic is universally approved, my success seems inevitable.

News of her death greatly exaggerated

The end?  Don't get sucked down by the spin.

Read this about last night:
http://www.correntewire.com/what_happene d_tonight

Last night was a staged event, starring the usual CNN/MSNBO suspects and the DNC.  Just another Chicago-style media moment to get Hillary to quit before she wins West Virginia and Kentucky.  Or, more's the point, she we know she's NOT QUITTING, to damage her campaign, her fund-raising and and demoralize her supporters.  It's all a show, people, don't fall for it.
She just beat him in his state.  With all of his resources, outspending her, with Illinois and it's resources and influence right there, with polling place irregularities,  he lost his self-proclaimed tie-breaker.  Another big state he couldn't win.

Donate now, any small amount, to show your support. But for the outrageous calculated delay from Lake County, we'd have been donating after they called IN for her  -- BEFORE her speech --  and the evening wouldn't have felt like a car accident.

Hillary supporters: Let's all focus our energy on helping Hillary win. Let's not let their psy-ops game last night make a single dent in our resolve -- it hasn't in hers!
On to West Virginia!

Obama not in pews for questionnaire: another whopper!

Another whopper from the pander-lie-spin-parse machine of Senator Inspiration.

Obama Communicates, Even Without Words

Just stumbled onto this infuriating item in Friday's NYTimes by Maureen Down pal and fellow Clinton hater Alessandra Stanley.
It's about Obama's The View appearance, and its title "Obama communicates, even without words" raised a red flag immediately.  In her first paragraph, Ms. Stanley opines:

"And if the fluttery response of the show five co-hosts is any harbinger, Mr. Obama will not have any trouble assuaging female voters if Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton drops out of the Democratic race for the White House."

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/03/29/us/pol itics/29watch.html?_r=1&scp=2&sq alessandra+stanley&st=nyt&oref slogin

There are so many things wrong with this sentence that I had to go take my blood pressure meds.  OK, great, what a relief, all those BigBoyz club bullies waving their penises around on Harry "we will make it happen" Reid's orders, telling Clinton to drop dead, yeah, Dodd, Leahy, Casey.  No problem.  Millions and millions of Clinton's women supporters will take one whiff of Obama's pheromones and be assuaged.
Yes, Alessandra, we're too dumb and fluttery, too swayed by our desire to rub against some handsome dude, to have firm opinions, principles, loyalties, resolve, or dignity.  We're too shallow and stupid to have carefully and thoughtfully evaluated his experience, judgment and integrity and found them all lacking.  Our candidate has so little to offer except for gender identity that the mere physical presence of the dreamboat Obama will make us forget even that in an instant.

Bitches: Lock and Load!

The Speech I Wanted to Hear

If Obama wanted to confess, unite and heal, this is how he could have taken a much bigger step.

He could have started by apologizing to the Clintons and the voters, by admitting it was HE who racialized the campaign.  That it was he and his supporters who mined every syllable of anyone associated with Hillary's campaign to turn it into a race reference.  That he planned it, supported it and acquiesced in the media drumbeat to turn the Clinton's into racists, or, if not racists, to turn Hillary into someone so deeply divisive and unscrupulous that she would do stoop this low to win.  That he did it because he wanted to cut into her well-deserved African American vote before South Carolina, and to discredit her with party leaders.  That he used his race not to create "a more perfect union", but to create a deep division in the party.  And it is not race or racisim itself that caused this division, that caused many of us to find his candidacy disingenuous at best, but rather his willingness to stoop so low to win.

No, Senator Obama, it is not just "in the last couple of weeks that the discussion of race in this campaign has taken a particularly divisive turn."  We who do not support you believe it began after Senator Clinton's stunning upset in New Hampshire, when you launched the race-bait campaign with your Bradley-effect talking points.  When you continued to benefit from the damage this cynical and dangerous tactic caused her campaign.  When you failed to take the podium then as you did today to decry the media's non-stop propagandizing her "playing the race card."  When you waited to take this stand on racial division until you needed it for damage control to your own campaign, and not when the damage was being done to the party, to democratic voters, and to the civil rights legacy of the only two-term Democratic president since Franklin Roosevelt.

Yes, I would have liked to hear you talk about that.

MyDD Caucus Results

I logged on this morning dismayed to find that almost every new diary was some version of anti-clinton freep, with no new information.  She should quit, she's hurting the party, she's a throwback, she threw the sink, her accomplishments are fake, she really is a monster, she can't win, over and over.  Same with many more responses on any diary.

I ended up here like many people because of the astonishing quantity and misogynist tone of vitriol against clinton on so many other sites. But it appears to me that over the last week or two, and especially since Ohio and Texas, the last open blog generally supportive of Clinton is being systematically occupied.  It's beginning to feel like a caucus here.
