Re: News of her death greatly exaggerated (none / 0)

The reality of the situation, politically, is that she cannot win.  She understands this.  Her motives for pushing forward are two fold.

1) Leverage.  She has astronomical debt and will need Obama and his deep war chest to bail her out at some point - not only on the $11M in loans she has given the campaign, but the growing mountain of debt it takes to run a presidential campaign.  Her signaling that she will take this to the convention is nothing more than her opening negotiation.  Threatening a long and bloody fight in exchange for financial relief.  It is what it is.

2) Her continued political career.  She lost his campaign to due critical errors in judgment by her staff - tactically at least.  She does however want to continue in public service and this will require the resources and acquiescence of the DNC, in its current incarnation.  So she is looking at what kind of golden parachute are they offering...NY Gov? Senate majority leader?  SecState? etc etc etc.  This part of the game is about her getting out of debt and getting the best possible deal she can for her and her staff.  Her bargaining chips are her base - you guys.

This is the way modern political campaigns operate - 3 moves ahead of what you are arguing about.
